Kenyan Woman names Her Twins Baby Boys Barack and Mitt

History was made in a small Kogelo village in Kenya not too far away from the ancestral home of incumbent and re-elected president of United States of America when a Kenyan  woman, Milicent Owuor named her pretty twin baby boys after presidential candidates of both Democratic and Republican parties in the just concluded US election, Barack and Mitt. According to her, this will help her to remember the day presidential election of united states of America was won and lost.

The people of Kenya especially, the ancestral home of Barack Obama were overly excited for Obama's re-election and noted that it was the plan of God that he won.

New Traffic Law: Over Zealous Police Officer shoots Okada Rider

The peace and serenity of Coker area of Ilupeju Lagos was tampered with yesterday as an over zealous police officer shot an okada rider who wanted to evade being arrested. Trouble started when the police  officer whose name was given as Yemi  intercepted the Okada rider ( Adigun Atilola) and his passenger near  Teju bus stop.

According to report, the passenger jumped down from the bike while the rider wanted to escape but was dragged backwards by the police officer. In his bid to exercise ''Do you want to try me'' authority, he shot the okada rider at the lower, right side of the abdomen and the bullet escaped through the other side.

The last has not been heard about many negative sides of social network sites including Facebook. Barely five months after Cynthia Osokogu was killed in Casmilla Hotels, Festac town of Lagos state, Another incident happened again on November 1. Finally, Finally President Obama has gotten the victory in a hotly contested US election by defeating Mitt Romney of Republican party. Mitt Romney has even called and congratulated Obama for his re-election bid. This has sealed Obama's quest to continue in the white house as American 44th president and continue with his policies especially policies in Health Care and Tax. I personally noticed that racism and sentiments were brought to bear in this just concluded election

Nonetheless, one thing I appreciate about this American election is that even though at a time, both Mitt Romney and Barack Obama appeared offensive in their campaigns, there was not report of somebody being killed, assassinated, maimed or kidnapped as is obtainable in some other countries especially in Africa where sit- tight presidents will never want to relinquish power to somebody else. Even, opposition parties seldom concede defeat and will  always head to court for redress.

I congratulate president Obama, his wife Michelle, Democratic party and the people of America for the success of their presidential election. 

Okada Rider, Sunday Udoh Stripped himself Naked

Sunday Udoh, an Okada rider based in Ikeja area of Lagos state stripped himself naked yesterday when he was caught by the Lagos state task force for Environmental and Special offences.  Immediately he was caught, he removed his clothes in the public glare probably to attract sympathy unto himself. This resulted to traffic build up since the task force just allowed him to do his own thing. He eventually said he did it unknowingly because he was overtaken by shock  According to him, the bike was under hire purchase of N45,000 and he has a wife and children to carter for. At the end of the day, the Chairman of the task force reiterated that his team will ever remain undeterred in their bid enforce the new traffic law.

Due to ever rising unemployment in Nigeria, out of the applications submitted by job seekers at the on going Dangote recruitment, 6 Ph.D holders, 704 Masters degree holders, and 8,460 Bachelors degree holders were among those who have applied for the post of Truck Driver. The group Chairman, Aliko Dangote has reported that they only needed 100 graduate truck drivers who according to their plan will own the truck after successfully completing a total of 300,000 kilometers which is like moving from Lagos to Kano state.  He also said that while it takes serious minded truck drivers to cover the kilometers within two years, lazy ones may take up to four years to own the truck.He pointed out that all those applicants have a verifiable certificates and are even over qualified.

Boko Haram Seeks Ceasefire, Names Mediators

Nigerian violent Islamic sect, Boko Haram which has been a torn in the flesh of Nigerian government and Nigerian People  has said that they would cease all hostilities across the northern states of the federation.  The spokesman who said he has been authorized to speak speak on their behalf said this yesterday through a telephone conference.They named key northerners  to mediate in the dialogue and they include: Former Head of state, Mohammed Buhari, Shettima Ali Monguno, Former Yobe state Governor, Bukar Abba Ibrahim, Ambassador Gaji Galtimari, Hajia Aisha Waki and her husband Alkali Waki. The Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State, south south Nigeria Mr. Nsima Ekere has resigned from office. He announced his resignation at  the dusk of October 31 after he reliably gathered that the move to impeach him has been perfected. However, his press Inemesit Ina who signed his letter maintained his Superior resigned on personal ground after serving the people of Akwa Ibom state for a year and five months. He wished the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom state, Godswill Akpabio well for giving him the opportunity to serve.

Serena Williams 31,  and Venus Williams 32,  have arrived in Lagos on Tuesday for a two African-Country  visit. The two American stars are in Nigeria to promote, inspire and empower  girl child and  women's right. The duo are counted among the accomplished American athletes and they share 22 major single's women championship between themselves. They will meet Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Fashola and also hold tennis clinic at Ikoyi Club on Wednesday.On  Friday, both will play at the same Ikoyi club. Having been ranked 118 out 134 by British council with reference to global gender equality, their visit will help to break every barrier towards gender inequality in African most populous nation. They will be leaving for South Africa on November 2.

Governor of Delta State, South South Nigeria hinted that he was inspired to invite Chinedu Ikedieze (Aki) and Osita Iheme (Paw Paw ) to act as motivational speakers to the Delta State Flood displaced victims for a singular reason. According to him, the day he visited the victims in their camp at Institute of Continuing Education, (ICE), they were busy watching a home video of Aki and Paw, in also featuring John Okafor popularly known as Mr. Ibu. He revealed that most of the refugees did not give him attention as the state Governor because they were so absorbed in the hilarious and captivating home movie they were watching. Some looked at him, greeted him and turned back to their Television.  This attitude inspired him to ask the duo to come over to Delta State and encourage the flood victims. He further stated that seeing that watching Aki and Paw Paw movie was helping them forget their sorrows, he has reposed his confidence in the twosome believing that meeting them physically will go a long way in calming their nerves and checking their psychological feeling.
