FGN launches Centenary 100 Naira Note

Central Bank of Nigeria has unveiled a new 100 naira note to the Nigerian public. The unveiling was done by President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele.  According to the governor of Central Bank, Godwin Emefiele, the new note has been produced using the latest minting  technology with advanced security features.  On the front is the picture of Chief Obafemi Awolowo. The new centenary note has been produced to mark Nigerians 100 years of amalgamation of 1914 when Northern Nigeria and Southern Nigeria were joined together. Nigerians will begin to see the new note as from December 19, 2014. FGN borrowed leaf from countries like Costa Rica, and others who minted similar currency at 100 year.

German thieves cart away 10 truck loads of Beer during World Cup in Brazil

Police authority in the North Rhine-Westphelia of Germany has launched a manhunt for the thieves who stole 300,000 litres of canned beer from one warehouse between Thursday evening and Monday morning. The public was transfixed with the exploits the German team in Brazil where they won all their matches with the exception of tie against Ghana where they equalized 2:2. Right now, they are counting on the public to feed them with any useful information as to where such volume of drink could be packed. Germans are rated high (3rd) per capita  in Beer consumption globally, so while football lovers were busy catching the fun and fever of the World Cup, these thieves were busy looting the warehouse.

Two 300 Level Nigerian Students arrested for Defrauding Knustford University Ghana of $80,000

Two Nigerian 300 level undergraduates studying at Knustford University in Accra Ghana have been arrested by the Police for defrauding the Institute of the sum of $80,000. Gauis Biboye, research shows he is from Bayelsa and Femi Job have been arraigned in Accra circuit court for forging, falsifying and duping the institution the whooping sum of $80,000.Furthermore, they have slammed with extra charges of failing to make full payment of their tuitions. The defence Abraham Amalliba counsel pleaded for bail while the prosecutor ACP Moses Atibilla rejected it. At last, bail was granted to Femi Job while that of Gauis was rejected. The trial continues

Jihadist Islamic state of Iraq and Levante (ISIL) has announced the execution of 7 men who launched Grenade attack on its ISIL fighters about 10 days near Euphrates valley of Raqqa . The attackers who came in motor bike threw grenade on the fighters which resulted to injuries and death. The fighters mustered courage and blocked them and were able to capture them. Chelsea Coach, Jose Mourinho fined 8,000 pound for Improper Behaviour

Chelsea Manager, Jose Mourinho has been fined 8,000 pound for his misconduct during his club's  last week  1:0 loss to  Aston Villa as Villa Park. Ramires was given a straight red card when he tackled Villa's Karim  El Ahmadi but Jose Mourinho approached the referee, Chris Foy to argue his case that It was Gabriel Agbonlahor that pushed down Ramires. Chinese Man condemned to death for killing his own Surgeon

A Chinese man Lian Enqing, 33 has been sentenced to death for killing his own surgeon that carried out nose life on him on the ground of being unhappy with his new shape. The attack took place at the nose, throat and Ear Department of Number 1 People's Hospital in Wenling City in Zhenjiang Province of China. Though he attacked three doctors, he fatally killed one with knife. It was reported that Lian was quite unhappy with the way his nose was and requested the surgeon to carry out surgery on him. Thereafter, he started complaining the he was is happy with his new nose besides, the nose is no longer working very well as he is having difficult breathing. His sister Liao Qiao is now begging the court to temper justice with mercy because her brother is suffering from mental ailment. Nevertheless, the appeal did not go down well with the lawyers who upheld the sentence  because he wounded one doctor and killed the other.
