The Comptroller General of Nigerian Immigration Service, Mrs Rose Uzoma has been sacked by the government of Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. She was relieved of her position following an allegation that she reversed some of the latest immigration postings in favour of people from her side. According to the Nigerian Interior Minister, Abba Moro, due process was followed throughout the recruitment process until after the posting of the new officers to their beats, former Comptroller General prepared another circular unilaterally without any consultation and swapped some officers in their different beats. There was a report that there was an open confrontation at NIS passport office in FESTAC office, Lagos where a newly redeployed officer was having an altercation with the one initially posted to that beat. Based on these wide spread allegation against her, she was asked to resign. She was eventually sent on terminal leave.
