Ghana vs Mali AFCON semi final referee suspended by CAF

Slim Jdidi
The Tunisian referee that officiated the semi final match between the stallions of Burkina Faso and the Black stars of Ghana has been suspended by Confederation of African Football (CAF) due to his below average performance. Slim Jdidi openly denied Burkinabe so many opportunities and favoring Ghana but his grand plan did not just work out. He gave controversial penalty to Ghana which gave them early lead. He disallowed a clean goal which Burkina Faso scored; he red carded Jonathan Pitroipa instead of giving them penalty. In CAF football, referee's decision is final in regulation time, issuance of red card inclusive. But if during investigation, the referee admitted he  made a mistake like giving red card, the red card could be canceled.
Whether or not Pitroipa will play in final on Sunday will be made known on Friday, today . CAF secretary, Hicham Amrani pointed out that CAF officials were very disappointed with Slim Jdidi's poor officiating but added that Jonathan Pitroipa's red card will be rescinded if and only if the referee admitted he gave the card out in error. The CAF official will also sit to know the duration of the suspension. The two teams playing the finals Super Eagles of Nigeria and Stallions of Burkina Faso have resumed training ahead of their encounter at Soccer City stadium in Soweto, Johannesburg. All the 76,000 public tickets have all been sold out according to the local organizing committee (LOC)
