The Football association of Malawi has written an official letter to FIFA complaining about the security concerns in Calabar even as Septemeber 7, 2013 defining world cup qualifier draws closer. According to them, the security situation in Calabar has deteriorated to a level that their delegation cannot afford to take such risk. They refereed to a statement from Common Wealth that the state has been flagged as high risk state and therefore demanded FIFA to shift the match venue to either Abuja or to a neutral ground for safety reasons. Moreover, they questioned the appointment of Hamada El Moussa Nampain Drazza from Madagascar as the match referee so early before the match date. They requested the football body to change the venue. They noted that the man has questionable pedigree and therefore not suitable for the match. The Tom Saintfeit tutored side should know that virtually all Nigerian games especially qualifiers have been played in Calabar and they should therefore muster courage to come and play the super eagles come September 7.
