Unless there is a quick
intervention by the federal government in the lingering dispute between them
and the Nigerian Medical Association, Nigerians and most importantly, the sick should brace up for full blown strike
action by the Medical Medical Association which has been scheduled for January 6, 2014.
The president of Nigerian Medical
association in an interview, referred to the previous meeting they had in Minna in Niger
state where they instructed the entire Medical and Dental practitioners to embark
on a 5-day warning strike in their bid to send a warning signal to the federal
government. The warning strike ended yesterday. According to him, there are so many medical issues that require
intervention of the federal government but they have no lived up to expectation.
