Stella Damasus
Nigerian Nollywood actress Stella Damasus has attacked the senators of Federal Republic of Nigeria over the planned legalization of Child marriage in the country. The Nigerian red Chamber has planned to amend section 21 of child right act of Federal Republic of Nigeria which does not legally recognize the marriage of  a person under the age of eighteen.  This act if amended will mean that a married girl under the age of 18 is considered an adult. Stella questioned the availability of women in power who stay idle and watch things go awry in the country. In the 5 minutes video, Stella pointed out that legalization of child marriage is legalization of child abuse.

‘I cannot believe that such a barbaric and degrading issues will be discussed by the senate in a country which is described as ‘giant of Nigeria’. Of all the issues facing the country-Corruption, Energy, unemployment, infrastructural deviancy, health, education, security-Our senators have decided to waste our tax payers money to discuss how to enable these shameless randy old men to marry under aged children  legally.  Continuing, ‘’I cannot believe that senator of Nigeria will push for Child slavery to be made legal.

Nigeria has a history of having leaders in power who have no interest of the masses at heart. There are so many bills that will push the country forward an example is Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB). This bill has stayed more 10 years in the National Assembly and they have continued to play politics with it. It is kissing the dust at the moment and Nigerian law makers are busy thwarting the constitution to suit their selfish ends.
