Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and President Jonathan
The United States Secretary of State, Hillary Rodham Clinton in her 11 African country tour came to Nigeria on Thursday August 09, 2012. She met with President Goodluck Jonathan and members of his cabinet including Security adviser, Col Sambo Dasuki, Nigerian Foreign Affairs Minister, Olugbenga Ashiru, Power Minister Prof Bath Nnaji, Petroleum Minister, Diezeni Allison Madueke among others. She promised that America will assist Nigeria in their fight against terrorism and also discussed shortly how to improve Nigeria-American bilateral relationship. Clinton has already visited some African countries like Senegal, , Kenya, Malawi, Uganda, South Sudan and South Africa. She will also visit Benin republic before moving to Ghana to join in the burial of late president, John Evans Atta Mills.
Hillary Rodham Clinton noted that United States of America
is extremely interested in the creation of intelligence fusion cell where
information sharing among the security agencies- Military, Police, SSS counter
terrorism experts and foreign agencies can take place. She promised that
America is quite supportive to Nigerian Government in their fight against
terrorism.
