Andre Iniesta on Thursday in Monaco edged out both Lionel Messi and Cristian Ronaldo to clinch the UEFA best player of the year 2012 award. He emerged the winner with (19) votes while both Lionel Messi and Cristian Ronaldo had (17) votes. The jury of 53 journalists from across the continent valued Andre Iniesta's commanding performance in the Euro 2012 more than the goal scoring abilities of both Cristain Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
