So many Nigerians got warning alerts to switch off their handsets and even keep them very far away from their beds last night August 15. Reason was that BBC reported that Cosmic radiation from outer space precisely from Mars will pass through the earth in the early hours of today precisely 12.30am and 03.30am and this transition will be unfriendly to phone users whose phones were not switched off. Because of this, text messages flew randomly across all networks in Nigeria because nobody would like his or her beloved one to fall victim of the cosmic rays.
What happened thereafter? This news is a hoax as it is pure lie. How many People lost their lives or how many emergencies did we have this morning? Rumour Mongers and Millers should engage themselves in ventures that are rewarding rather than causing panic in the society. Cosmic radiation was discovered over several decades ago and is regarded as background ray that heats the earth even before now this news came to Nigerian domain ( Phone users). Actually, this ray is dangerous to health as it can cause skin cancer and even death but God in has provided Ozone layer as a protective cover but human activities in recent time has caused this ozone layer to get depleted.
