The Vice Chancellor of Enugu State University of Science and Technology, Cyprian Onyeji has been taken hostage by Kidnappers. The incident took place near the entrance gate to the University campus at Agbani . According to an eye witness, the Kidnappers laid siege close to the gate and on seeing the Vice Chancellor and his convoy, they appeared and started attacking them with sophisticated weapons. The security operatives attached to him were overpowered and even sustained serious injury. The vice chancellor's where about has remained largely unknown. This incident has led to indefinite strike by Academic staff union of Nigerian Universities, Senior Staff association of Nigerian universities and so on. This is to force the security agencies to wake up to their calling and expedite action on the release of this latest Kidnap victim.
