Kidnappers of Mother of Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala demand N200 million

Kidnappers that abducted the mother of Nigerian Finance Minister and co-ordinating Minister of economy, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala has demanded the sum of N200,000,000 naira from the family. They established contact with the family on Monday afternoon and wanted to speak with  Dr. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala herself but their demand was declined.
They however spoke with the first son of the family who relocated to Ogwasi-Ukwu few days ago to salvage the situation. The 82 year old Kanene Okonjo was kidnapped on Sunday when she came outside to serve soft drinks to workers in their family house.  The abductors were demanding for their own subsidy which Ngozi Okonjo- Iweala gives to the petroleum products marketers. At first, they demanded for her resignation as one of the conditions of the old woman’s release.  Meanwhile, Delta state police command have arrested the two policemen who were suppose to be  on duty the day the old woman was kidnapped.  In a related development, the president of Nigerian association of Industrial security and safety , Enah Ekhome has warned that more high profile kidnapping may likely occur and advised Nigerians to be more security conscious especially this season. He advocated for installation of Access control gadgets and closed circuit television (CCTV) in the facilities.
