The Will of Ikemba Odumegwu
Ojukwu was presented by Chief Magistrate
of Enugu High Court , Dennis Ekoh on November 20, 2012. This will generated a
lot of surprises. Lion share was given to his wife, and Nigerian Ambassador to
spain, Mrs Bianca Ojukwu.
TheWill contains Ojukwu’s
children as follow: tenny Haman, Ebere, Chineme, Nwachukwu, Afam,Okigbo,
Mmegha, Emeka Odumegwu Jnr.
Late Ojukwu willed the property -CasaBianca
at No. 7 Forest crescent, GRA, Enugu to his Widow wife, Bianca in addition to
two other properties located at Jabi and Kuje in Northern Nigeria. Also, in her
favour is all the money belonging to late Ikemba. Furthermore, he stated that
Bianca should replace him as Trustee in Ojukwu transport Limited (OTL).
However, he pointed out that all the properties should be reclaimed from Bianca
in the event that she remarries.
The Family mansion was given to
his first son, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu Jnr. The new and strange son, Tenny
Haman popped up as a surprise to many
according to Bianca since Ojukwu never mentioned his name when he was alive.
Ojukwu willed Jubillee Hotel located in Zaira, Kaduna state to him
Ojukwu distributed all his
properties among all his other children mentioned. Although Bianca described
the Will as satisfactory, Chukwuemeka Jnr showed disapproval for the Will and
even denied knowing the Family Lawyer. He has intention of litigation in the
court of competent juridiction. Acording to him, Igbo culture demands that he
automatically owns his fathers properties as the first son in the event that he
loses his father. And now that his father is dead, all the properties belong to
him.
