Another Facebook Tragedy Again, OMG!

The last has not been heard about many negative sides of social network sites including Facebook. Barely five months after Cynthia Osokogu was killed in Casmilla Hotels, Festac town of Lagos state, Another incident happened again on November 1. The  striking  things about the two incidents are that both involved students of Nigerian Universities and the surnames sound alike.

Nkiruka Akabugu an undergraduate of University of Lagos was invited by her Facebook boy friend to a night club in Apapa area of Lagos. Without excuse, she did attend the party and thereafter the two love birds found their way to the boy friend's house in 1004 flat along  Ozumba Mbadiwe Victoria Island, Lagos. The rest is now history and the Nkiruka is now receiving surgical treatment at Marina general hospital, Lagos. What actually transpired? Cool down! According to Nkiruka's own side of  gist, the boy friend of 26 years made several sexual advances via the phone but Nkiruka declined them all  on the ground that she was undergoing her monthly menstrual cycle. Trouble started at 1004 flat when the request for sex went out of hand and due to loss of self control coupled with anger, the guy tore her dress to have his way no matter whose ox is gored. Nkiruka resisted vehemently and the ensuing strife caused the boy friend to push her down from the 3rd floor of the 6 story building. She sustained pelvic fracture.

However, the mother of the boy friend who pleaded anonymity revealed that she went to bed around 10pm and added that her son did not actually push her down from their apartment but that Nkiruka in her bid to escape being raped jumped down from the 3rd floor in her own accord but she promised to foot the medical bill of the victim. The case is currently under police investigation by the Bar Beach Police division. 

Personal Opinion: History does not repeat itself but Nigerians are repeating history but I cannot say whether knowingly or blindly. There is no way a goat will see a yam without attempting to feed on it at all cost. If she was indeed menstruating, why attend the party in the first place? You suppose to  know what men are looking for in any single relationship.
