A Nigerian woman, Mrs Grace Adeleye 66 of Sarnia, Greater Manchester, has been charged by Manchester crown court yesterday of manslaughter of a 4 week old baby Goodluck Caubergs. Grace, a nurse charges 100 pounds to carry out circumcision on male children mainly of Nigerian heritage in her home. Many approached her in the past and had a successful circumcision but this botched and ill-fated circumcision has exposed her unprofessional, and incompetent disposition to carrying out successful minor surgery.

Adeleye was introduced to Goodluck's family through a friend as she had performed many circumcisions
Because the operation was carried out unprofessionally without anesthetic and the unlucky Goodluck bled profusely, the parents called and informed her about it but she insisted it was normal thing. Feeling sad about the bleeding, the boy's parents from Chadderton Greater Manchester rang the ambulance of Royal Oldham hospital not far away from their home but before help could come to the  unfortunate Goodluck, he gave up having lost a lot blood. He died at 27 days of age. Now, Manchester Crown court is insisting that the death is avoidable and unnecessary and is charging Grace for gross negligence and Manslaughter which Grace denied. The trail continues...
The Royal Oldham Hospital was just a mile and a half from the family home in Chadderton, near Oldham, but by the time an ambulance was called the child could not be saved
