Danger! Cell Phone Exposure Impacts Negatively on Fetal Brain Developement

Yale School of Medicine researchers have warned that radiations from cell phone could impact negatively on fetal development.  Exposure could cause hyperactivity in offspings. They added that even though this safety warning is always given by the manufacturers of cell phone including Blackberry and Apple, these warnings are not observed most of the time. The research they carried out recently has proved that people, especially pregnant women should be extra careful with where they keep their phones. Manufacturers advised that cell phones should be kept away from the body due to its radio wave transmission.

Dr. Hugh, a medical Professor and Chief of Yale department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Science co-authored this recent research in impact of cell phone on pregnancy. The team had two cages for pregnant mice. On one cage, an active 'ON' cell phone was placed on top of the cage and the radio wave transmission was on full capacity while on the other, an 'OFF' cell phone was placed on the cage with no transmission. Dr. Hugh and his team allowed the mice to give birth and and also the offsprings to reach adulthood before behaviours were tested.  'The mice exposed to cell phones were more active...their memories were slightly decreased, these mice were bouncing off the wall and didn't have a care in the world'.
Dr. Taylor concluded that there is a 'biological basis' to suggest that cell phone exposure can impact on pregnancy. In 2011, World Health Organization's cancer arm warned that cell phone exposure could cause cancer and that more research should be carried out. Also some countries including France has banned Cell phone companies from advertising phones to children because of possible safety issues.
