The much hyped Nigeria and Venezuela friendly encounter in Miami, Florida has come and gone with Nigeria winning Venezuela by 3 goals to 1. There was no goal in the first half but everything changed at the 49th minute of the second half when Brown Ideye scored Nigerian first goal from the right side. The supporters of both sides were upbeat that their side will win the match as they continuously drummed support for their team. Nosa Igiebor scored Nigerian thrilling second goal from 30 metres away.
At the 70th minute, the Venezuelan side netted a consolation goal which took Nigerian Keeper and Captain Austine Ejide by surprise. Coach Stephen Keshi further made substitutions with the likes of Shola Ameobi and Bright Dike who both made their international Debut. Nevertheless, it was Ogenyi Onazi who pies his trade at Lazio, Italy that scored Nigerians third goal in the added time before the match came to an end.
