Historic: Meet the First Black Man who has been made Vice Chancellor in American University

A Nigerian American-based Prof. of Electrical Engineering, Prof. Ilesanmi Adesida has been made the  Provost/Vice Chancellor, academic affairs at university of Illinois, at Urbana Champaign, united states of America.  Before his appointment, he was the Dean, College of Engineering in the same institution. He has done a lot of works in Nanotechnology.
Born in 1949 in Ifo, a town in Ondo state, he was appointed to this position on May 31 but it took effect from August 15, 2012. According to the Vice president and Chancellor of the institution, Dr Phyllis Wise, Adedisa  is succeeding  Linda .P.B Katehi Tseregounis who served in the role on permanent basis
