Ed Miliband |
The Labour leader who is a staunch supporter of Gay marriage, Edward Samuel Miliband 42, has proposed that Gay couples should be allowed to have their weddings in the Church. He is equally backing government's reform agenda as it affects same sex marriage. According to him, the reform agenda should not be limited to just getting married in a registered offices or other civil ceremonies but insisted that churches should be encouraged to perform the rite in their churches if the couples so wish.
Currently, Home office does not support same sex marriage but David Cameron intends changing the legislation before next election comes in 2015. And from all indication, members of parliament will vote for this change in legislation. Edward Miliband has planned having a meeting with the MPs so that whenever the voting will take place, they will vote in favour of gay legislation change.
