Lagos State is going to ban smoking in public places. It has been reported authoritatively through Lagos state commissioner for Justice Ade Ipaye who made this known in Lagos on Monday. He also reiterated that smoking while driving is a serious traffic offence in Lagos now. The Justice commissioner told News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the new Lagos traffic law apart from reducing road accidents in Lagos state, is also a grand plan to ban smoking in public places. He pointed out that this will go a long way in improving the health conditions of Lagosians. In addition, he stated that the new traffic law will bring chaotic traffic situation in Lagos state under control because, it has been observed that all of a sudden people just decided to pay no attention to traffic laws.
