The New version of Petroleum
Industry Bill which President sent to the national assembly before they went on
Recess has passed it first reading in red chamber. On Monday a day before their resumption on
Tuesday, a member of senate promised the bill would be given an accelerated
hearing seeing the how important the bill is to Nigeria oil and gas industry
and economy at large.
The senate chairman on Oil and
Gas, Magnus Abbe hinted that the bill has scaled through the first reading.
Hear him. ‘’Given the seriousness with which the leadership of the senate is
treating the bill, I foresee a speedy consideration’’. He continued, ‘’the
first reading has been taken and the second one is to e taken very soon.
