Okada Riders Protest In Lagos


Okada Riders yesterday protested in Lagos metropolis against stringent traffic laws which Lagos state government recently enacted. They protested along Lagos Abeokuta expressway, Apapa, Ajegunle, Agege and Lagos Island urging Lagos state government to revert to the old order. It is noteworthy that Okada operations has been barred in 475 route including bridges in the Lagos metropolis. The protesters chanted anti-government songs but were later dislodged by team of Rapid Response Squad of Nigerian Police. In Apapa area, some of them were seen around 2pm trying to gather support by forcing other riders to join them. Some who have element of fear decided to escape from the scene and parked their bikes and resorted to sleeping to while away time. Lagos state government has added another more 10,000 road signs in the state on top the 15,000 existing signs
