The Management of Air Nigeria under the Chairmanship of Jimoh Ibrahim has released a statement that it is suspending its operations for twelve calender months. In addition, 50 staff of the company has been sacked with immediate effect for gross insubordination and harsh business climate in the country. The last straw that broke the camel's back in the survival of Air Nigeria started not too long ago when the company was accused of tax evasion. The climax led to suspension of both domestic and regional flights by NCAA on the ground of bankruptcy. Meanwhile, the airline had about 4 Boeing 737-300 on lease from an american based lessor company-GECAS (GE Capital Aviation Services) . Immediately this problem started, the lessor requested to have their 4 planes back.
