Childhood nutrition has far reaching implication on the intelligent quotient of any growing child. This research took into consideration social status, wealth and  even previous intelligence before it was concluded.
The research was carried out on 4,000 Scottish children between age 3 and 5 and compared their feeding on fast food with healthily cooked food. The research carried out by a scholar of Goldsmith University London showed that  parents belonging to the higher class feed their children with food prepared with fresh ingredients and their children show high IQ while those in the lower class normally feed their children with fast food and this has resulted to the children having lower IQ.

Lower socio-economic status was linked to more children having fast food, which led to lower intelligence

These children with low IQ tend to score low in intelligence question and not only that, they struggle in the class. This has thrown a challenge to schools located in less privileged neighbourhood as they will have to do something so that the children can achieve their cognitive potentials. It is noteworthy here that quality and freshness of food matter so much in growing children and this can make or mar their future.
Similar publication was made in Australia in August. Their result showed that eating healthily improves intelligent quotient while children who feed on drinks and sweets showed decline in intelligence especially in old age.
