More revelations about the lynching of 4 Uniport Students emerged yesterday from one of the key suspects that partook in mob action that sent four 200 level University of Port Harcourt students to their untimely grave last two weeks. These students saw hell on this planet earth before giving up the ghost. They were labelled robbers by the callous and murderous community, beaten and burnt to death with Tyres and petrol under close watch of the police and Aluu community. David Ugbaje gave account on how a policeman joined the mob to lynch the quartet to death on 5th of October. Police yesterday noted they have captured the fleeing mastermind and main person that raised the false alarm against the 4 students. His name is Lucky alias Bright. According to report, Lucky was owing one of the 4 students and because of that, the creditor now deceased mobilized the other 3 students who were also friends to embark on the ill-fated debt recovery mission.

On seeing them, Lucky raised false alarm that they were armed robbers that came to rob him. Ugbaje reported to the police that when they were lynching the 4 students, a policeman came and joined them; After some time, he asked the mob to release the boys to the police but the mob declined to his request. Continuing, he said when they were beating them, two policemen came around and one joined them. After taking part in beating them, he requested them to hand the 4 over to the police but the angry mob said 'we no gree'. They said anything that will result from this action, ''you people will bear the consequences'' This account is in line with what Ibisobia Elkanah, sister of the Friday Tekenah Elkana said last week concerning the incident. She said that police did not repel the mob and that one even suggested that four of them be burnt alive. ''The Police van came and went into the crowd and were talking to them. The people kept quiet as police were making statement. I heard them laughing. You know they were happy. They kept quiet again. The police talked and they started laughing again. The next was for me to see three policemen coming out from the crowd, entered their van and one of them said ''Burn them alive'' I must confess; I was gripped with fear' she said.
