JTF Kills key Commanding Officer of Boko Haram in Damaturu, Discovers Bomb factory in Niger State



Joint Task Force recorded another victory in Damaturu, Yobe state early Sunday morning as about 30 Boko haram fundamentalists including Bakaba who has only one eye but is a field commanding officer of the dreaded Islamic sect in the north eastern state.  There was a gun duel between the security forces and the radical group that has anti-western education philosophy.

The shootout took place in an area known as Kandahar of Damaturu. Also not less than 10 of the Abubakar Shekau loyalists were captured alive in addition to arms and ammunitions. The victory came as a result of search operation embarked upon by the JTF in the Kandahar and Cemetery areas of the capital. The spokesman for the JTF in Yobe  Lt. Eli Lazarus confirmed the raid and added that those arrested are assisting the security agencies in their bid to track other members of the sect. They have advised the residents of the state to go about their lawful businesses without fear.
Meanwhile, Security operatives have discovered a bomb factory located in the Maitunmbi area of Niger state. The force acted on confession made by a captured Boko Haram member who was one of those arrested for killing Policemen in two separate operations.  Some items like gas cylinder prepared for explosion, 30 cans of disposable food items filled with explosive substances, 25kg fertilizer bags, batteries, remote control, electrical gadgets were recovered from the factory but no arrest has been made.
