Ex-Militants Donate N52.7 Million to South South Flood Victims

The Ex-Niger Delta Militants have pledged the sum of N52.7 Million Naira as financial assistance to the recent flood victims from the south southern states. This was made known through the office of the co-ordinator of Presidential Amnesty Programme and Presidential adviser on Niger Delta Affairs.

They have planned to achieve this through the contribution of the sum of N2,000 per head from their October salary. An 18-member flood Relief committee all drawn from stake holders from amnesty programme and volunteers have been constituted by the co-ordinator of Presidential Amnesty Programme, Kingsley Kuku. Mr Kuku appreciated the Amnesty beneficiaries for their kind gesture towards the flood victims and is now planning on how to meet with the Governors of the affected states with the aim of finding a way forward out of the disaster. Mr Kuku noted that the ex-militants have demonstrated African spirit of being brothers keeper in time of distress. The beneficiary states include: Delta, Edo, Rivers, Bayelsa, Cross River. He promised that the money will be used to get relief materials for the victims.
