They were paraded by the vigilante group of the community naked; they were beaten without mercy and finally placed inside tyres and set ablaze in the presence of many indigenes of the community including the village head.

Yesterday, the students under the aegis of National association of Nigerian Students  mobilized for protest against the inhuman treatment meted out to their fellow students. They hijacked Police Patrol vehicles, burnt down some houses within the community.  Since after the incident,  many indigenes of Umuokiri-Aluu Community have fled from the village because of the arrests being made by the police. The students went berserk, destroying many things in the town, and demanding for justice for the dead colleagues. When the Vice Chancellor wanted to address the protesting crowd, pure water sachets were thrown at him and seeing the situation was getting out of hand he announced immediate closure of the school until normalcy returns.
Meanwhile, the parents of the deceased students have petition the National Assembly and the Federal   government to bring the perpetrators t book.
