The suspension placed on India Aviation company, Dana air has been lifted by the federal government. Following the crash of Dana Air on Sunday, June 03, 2012, the operating license was revoked. The ill-fated aircraft killed all the 153 passengers on board, cabin crew inclusive. Investigation showed that the two engines of the air plane packed up as it was about to land at the Muritala Mohammed airport in Ikeja and crashed at the Iju area of Lagos suburb.
Special adviser to the minister of aviation on media, Joe Obi announced that federal government is now satisfied with air worthiness of Dana airline and decided to lift the suspension. '' By this development, Dana is free to resume its flight operations. But government will however continue to strengthen its oversight functions to ensure all the airlines operating in the country including Dana Air adhere strictly to procedure as required by the Nigerian Civil Aviation act and all other local and international regulations that ensure and promote air safety.
